TweetDeck Trick

I am obviously quite active on Twitter and it is now an essential tool for me. Not only for news but research as well. One problem I continuously ran across was random garbage tweets from either bots or charlatans hocking newsletters that would crowd out value added information from a search or list I created. One stream I had been quite active was $IMOS. When it traded down for about a month straight, at times I was the only commentator. As the price rose a number of momentum bots or hacks started clogging up the stream with useless tweets like this:

So here’s a quick fix to banish these posters from any search, list, stream, etc when you’ve already blocked them. On the status bar to the left, click the gear icon and select settings:

SettingsIn the pop up menu, choose the MUTE menu and you will have a pop up box display the following:

tweetdeckUnder the Mute drop down menu at the top, select USER. Then simply add the Twitter Handle of the perpetrator. Viola!
