The Richest Man in Babylon

One of the first ‘finance’ related books I read was “The Richest Man in Babylon” when I was an engineer and enjoying a relatively good (stable) salary and traveling quite often so expense were paid for by my company. I revisited this book and luckily, Wikipedia has a great summary of it here:

Sometimes I feel writing things down helps solidify ideas, here is my version of the summary in as short a format as possible

1) Save a portion of every paycheck no matter what

2) Create and stick to a budget

3) Invest in what you know or people that have expertise in that area

4) Don’t lose your savings

5) Buy a home

6) Get insurance
